This year the NHRCP raised 116,000 Thai Baht for island wide conservation projects through the SSI ECOlogical program. This money is raised by the sale of recognition cards such as the ECOlogical Diver and Ecological Monitoring Program Diver cards that our students receive.
Out of all the SSI dive schools on Koh Tao, New Heaven raised by far the most money through this program. The money raised will be used to support marine conservation projects on Koh Tao carried out by the Save Koh Tao Group, including learning programs with the local school.
All of this success is owed to the amazing and dedicated students that we have had through our program. Our students have made it their priority to not only get training in marine conservation and research related diving, but to also support a wide range of efforts being undertaken around the island.
This success is part of a long-term partnership with SSI Thailand, who have been a vital supporter in island wide conservation efforts since the start of both the NHRCP and the Save Koh Tao Group.
Stay tuned for more information about what great projects are being supported by this money raised in 2012. And thank you again for all those who have helped make this possible!
