Of course being in a secluded area such as Baan Talay will not be for everybody; and our rooms in Chalok Ban Kao are often booked months in advance. If you are unable to get a room that suits you at our resort, these are the other places to stay on Koh Tao that we recommend.
After over 10 years of being one of the most popular and highest rated resorts on Koh Tao, the New Heaven Resort has re-opened in a new location, under the name Blue Heaven Koh Tao. Located just minutes from Baan Talay, this beautiful resort offers breathtaking views, stylish new rooms, and of course the friendly and loving owners staff from the old New Heaven Resort above Shark Bay.
Located at the end of a private road, Woodlawn Villas Koh Tao are surrounded by two acres of coconut palm trees and tropical gardens; an ideal habitat for vibrantly coloured butterflies that so often grace us with their presence around Woodlawn Villas grounds.
If you are on a budget trip and would just like a roof over your head, these budget resorts may be a good option. All these resorts are located in Chalok Baan Kao Bay and are all a 2-minute walk away from the dive school. The chalok area has a good selection of restaurants and bars to choose from, and it is not as busy as the main beach (Sairee).
Prices for all these rooms around 450 baht per night.
Big Fish Resort
Also found in Chalok Baan Kao, Big Fish have clean comfortable rooms at very reasonable prices. Located 2 minutes from the dive shop. The resort has a lovely beach garden looking over the bay, and great seafood in their restaurant. .
Koh Tao Tropicana Resort
Situated on the Chalok Ban Kao Bay, right next to the dive school and close to all amenities. We recommend this resort to our divers due to the friendliness of the staff, the great value, and their dedication to being a socially and environmentally responsible resort.
